Lost at Sea (Part 2 of 2)

If you listened to either part of this special, there’s most likely been at least one occasion where you heard an unfamiliar track and thought “what is this and where the hell can I get it?” Most non-album tracks have been provided to me by an unofficial compilation called “Towering Above The Rest.” Started earlier this decade and expanded upon with time, the collection is a staggering 24 discs full of b-sides, rarities, covers, live tracks, outtakes, collaborations and remixes. Anything you could have possibly desired to hear from Radiohead is contained here. For a tracklisting and downloads (entire collection available in 1-2 disc spurts), click here.
Tonight’s tracklist included:
Fitter Happier/Idioteque/Morning Bell/Banana Co./Lift/Weird Fishes\Arpeggi/Fog (again)/There There/Let Down (Radiodread Tribute Version)/Fake Plastic Trees/Videotape (Live in Boston 2006)/In Limbo (Live for Canal+ 2001)/True Love Waits (early version)/Nobody Does It Better/Bodysnatchers/Pearly*/2+2=5/Reckoner/Sit Down Stand Up/Optimistic/Polyethylene (Part 2)/Nude/Street Spirit (Fade Out)/Paranoid Android/Creep

I should probably take this time to mention that the contents of this blog reflect the personality of its owner and proprietor, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts and viewpoints of WUAG or the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Lost At Sea: Part 1 of 2
Posted in Uncategorized on August 30, 2008 by surfingthewarmindustryThanks to all who tuned in, requested, and called in to request a song by another band and were then told what was going but requested a Radiohead song anyway. The playlist was:
Fitter Happier/15 Step/Fog/The Bends/The Trickster/Go To Sleep/The National Anthem/Talk Show Host/Follow Me Around (Pawel Osmolski Mix)/Jigsaw Falling Into Place/Pop Is Dead/Just/Airbag/Prove Yourself/I Might Be Wrong/Myxomatosis/Cuttooth/High And Dry/How To Disappear Completely/Pyramid Song/Pulk Pull Revolving Doors/[UNKLE's] Rabbit In Your Headlights/[Thom Yorke's] Cymbal Rush/Punchdrunk Lovesick Singalong/Karma Police
To evberyone who requested a song ahead of time: next week, my darlings. I’ve got plenty of other stuff lined up. I just might even give away a prize.
Chances are you probably heard a track of theirs you’ve never heard before. If you wanna know where and how you can get them, information is forthcoming. Stay tuned to this blog, to STWI, as well as the rest of all the great programming on WUAG. See you next Friday at 7!
You’re here, and this is happening.

As previously announced, the very first STWI episode of the new semester will be dedicated to a band widely regarded as one of the world’s best, Radiohead. Now, I could be the didactic authority on the band and bring in everything they’ve ever released, hijack the station until I’ve played it all (or until campus police pry me away from the boards), but that wouldn’t be much fun. Instead, you – the loyal Radiohead fans of UNCG/Greensboro/Guilford County – need to get in on the action and show your support for the band! From now until August 25th, feel free to leave a comment to this post listing which tracks you require that I play, be they album cuts, b-sides, remixes, live tracks, or “Creep”. You can pick as many or as few tracks as you’d like, and I will fit them into my show. You can even leave a little blurb about why you’ve picked your choices, which I just may read on air.
There’s your mission, should you choose to accept it. Get to pickin’!
HEY! DON’T WATCH THAT! WATCH THIS!
