Soulwax and Hooverphonic are excellent bands with excellent debut albums that were released in 1996. They also happen to be from Belgium. This week on STWI, I will be featuring various artists and tracks from everyone’s favorite underground hip-hop label, Stones Throw Records. You’ll hear some of your favorites from Madlib (and his many aliases and side projects), J Dilla (R.I.P.), and others, but I’ll especially be giving airtime to tracks and artists on the label who have been underrated or overlooked and deserve a play or two. Requests are encouraged. It all goes down Friday the 12th at 7 PM. Get in.
